The Greene Rod and Gun Club consists\u00a0of 94 acres, a clubhouse, two trap fields,\u00a0 a skeet and 5-stand field, a 100 yard rifle range, a 300 yard rifle range & 4 pistol ranges.\u00a0 Doubles can be shot on one of the trap fields,\u00a0 and double wobble on the other of the trap fields.<\/p>\n

A pond is also on the property and can be used by members for fishing or boating.<\/p>\n

There is a club meeting at 7:00 pm every third Thursday of the month at the Clubhouse. All club members & non members are welcome. Please join us at the club, The members would gladly welcome the public. Followed immediately after by the board of directors meeting.<\/p>\n

Dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops, Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The primary goal of the association would be to “promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis,” according to a magazine editorial written by Church.<\/p>\n

After being granted a charter by the state of New York<\/strong> on November 17, 1871, the NRA was founded. Civil War Gen.
